What makes some project coaches great, some good, and some just mediocre? It's a combination of talent and structure. Even the greatest sports coaches of all time wouldn't have had the success that they did, if their organizations did not support their methods for success.

Much attention has been directed towards reducing training instructor variability but less attention has been given to where business results are delivered — at the project coaching phase. If you want to make sure that new projects are successfully launched, monitored and results delivered, then you need to ensure that each and every one of your coaches is equipped for success, with the same team playbook. A playbook provides a structured framework for individual coaches to provide a consistently high quality experience for all Belts.

Sheryl Vogt - Vogt Consulting

Sheryl Vogt was one of the first Black Belts at General Electric. After working successfully as a Black Belt and Master Black Belt in manufacturing, engineering, and service areas for GE, she began work as an independent consultant in 2000.

Sheryl has assisted numerous organizations in all aspects of their continuous improvement efforts, from developing deployment plans with organizational leaders to training and mentoring hundreds of Green and Black Belts. Sheryl's clients have included: 3M, Sears, Vulcan Materials, American Electric Power, the city of Fort Wayne, Parkview Hospital, Charter Steel, Greenlee Textron, Fairchild Semiconductor, Boston Scientific, MedSolutions, Turtle Wax, and WESCO.

Sheryl received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S. in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University.

Maria Fry - Strategic Quality Solutions

Maria Fry is a Master Black Belt and the Owner of Strategic Quality Solutions, LLC. She began her Lean Six Sigma journey with General Electric Aircraft Engines as the first GE Leadership Program graduate to receive a Six Sigma Black Belt in 1997.

For the last 11 years, Maria has led and supported Lean Six Sigma deployments for international firms in the personal computer, automotive, and industrial product manufacturing sectors as well as client services, financial processes, business risk services, insurance, and agricultural operations. Maria has trained and mentored hundreds of Belts at all levels (Black, Green & Yellow). Maria earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and an M.B.A. from Cleveland State University.
