Lean Master Program Design

The effective combination of online coursework, virtual study sessions, and in-person training has a proven track record of propelling students beyond mere comprehension, fostering their confidence in becoming impactful Lean masters.

About the Lean Master Program

Course length: 12 weeks

The Lean Master Certification is the highest level of Lean training, spanning the entirety of the Lean spectrum of activities from detailed analysis of safety stock algorithms in replenishment pull systems to the philosophy and effective behaviors of a Lean Master.

Given the growing complexity of product and service challenges faced by our organizations, we integrate advanced tools such as process simulation and mathematical modeling into the Lean body of knowledge as a way of gaining insights into and managing the effects of complexity.

Participants must have certification complete within 12 months.

Program Deliverables

Upon completing the Lean Master Certification Program, attendees should be equipped to:

  • Design and optimize process models to apply Lean concepts in complex environments, understanding and balancing competing metrics.
  • Apply Lean methodologies for waste elimination, lead time reduction, mix and volume changes, and improved operations in various sectors.
  • Analyze value stream maps more thoroughly, and provide direction, analysis, and reporting for projects tied to organizational strategic initiatives.
  • Change leadership and change management to overcome opposition and lead successful deployments.

Program Schedule

This Lean Master Certification Program alternates between online course work, virtual study hall sessions and culminates with a week-long in-person training event. The program runs twice a year in spring and fall. You must complete a short virtual interview prior to enrollment to give the instructors insights into your Lean journey. Certification is awarded upon successful completion of the course work, a passing score on the exam of 80% or higher, and delivery of 3 projects where you have applied advanced Lean concepts and tools and demonstrated Lean Master qualities in leading your teams and coaching your organization.
