Alison Smith

Vice President of Finance

Alison Smith is Vice President of Finance at MoreSteam, where she provides leadership across finance, human resources, customer service, and business operations. A licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Enrolled Agent (EA), Alison brings a strong foundation in financial management, regulatory compliance, and business operations to her work helping MoreSteam scale while maintaining the high level of service and support customers expect.

Since joining MoreSteam in 2011, Alison has played a key role in the company's growth, helping scale the operational foundation that supports MoreSteam's training, software, and customer communities. Her responsibilities extend beyond traditional finance leadership to include customer service excellence, employee support, business operations, and the continuous improvement of internal processes. She works closely with teams across the organization to ensure that strategic objectives are translated into effective execution and a consistently positive experience for customers. Before joining MoreSteam, Alison spent more than a decade as a Senior Consultant with a public accounting firm, advising individuals and small- to medium-sized businesses on financial, accounting, tax, and operational matters. That experience gave her a broad perspective on the challenges organizations face as they grow and the systems required to support sustainable success.

At MoreSteam, Alison has helped apply continuous improvement principles to business operations, including customer support processes, internal workflows, and organizational planning. In addition to her operational leadership responsibilities, Alison helps coordinate MoreSteam's in-person events and customer experiences, supporting opportunities for learning, networking, and professional development within the operational excellence community. Her approach combines financial discipline, operational thinking, and a strong commitment to service, helping ensure that MoreSteam maintains the high standards of support and responsiveness for which it is known.

Alison holds a B.S. in Finance from Youngstown State University and a Certificate in Executive Management from the University of Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business.
